Paignton

Famous for its long, sandy beaches, paddler-friendly waters and a colourful, bustling pier, Paignton remains a popular, traditional seaside resort. The lively seafront of Paignton, Devon, and that of nearby Goodrington, offer a host of attractions from the waterslides of Quaywest to crazy golf on Paignton Green.

Most of the town is level with the seafront and its sandy beaches, pier, harbour and theatres, all within easy reach. Paignton Green is the home of many events, festivals and exhibitions throughout the year, providing a scenic focal point for the resort. In the high season, carnivals, regattas and festivals follow each other without pause.

Review

Paignton Zoo is a great day out for the whole family. As well as the thousands of animals, there’s a miniature train ride, a wobbly jungle bridge in Lemur Wood, indoor and outdoor play areas, and more – all packed into 80 acres of natural habitat.

At night, Paignton's seafront comes alive and is perfect for an evening stroll. There is a variety of excellent food and drink, and between the multiplex cinema and the redevelopment of the historic Palace Theatre, there is an exciting mix of quality entertainment all year round.
